What do you mean, "Non-clinical"?

“Non-clinical” is a term or description I keep hearing being used to mean work we docs do that uses our medical skills and knowledge, just not for our own patients, and usually without laying hands on a patient. It’s a term describing some form of work or work-like activity needing your medical knowledge, but not a hobby or some other recreation because you get paid for your work and medical skills.
